Arc'teryx makes technical outdoor apparel and equipment from North Vancouver, British Columbia. Founded in 1989 as Rock Solid and renamed in 1991 after the Archaeopteryx fossil, it built its reputation on Gore-Tex hardshells like the Alpha SV and Beta, Atom insulated midlayers, laminated climbing harnesses and packs, with taped seams and restrained branding. It is part of Amer Sports, majority-controlled by China's Anta Sports since 2019, and runs the Veilance, LEAF and PRO lines. Streetwear demand and high-fashion collaborations have widened its audience beyond alpinists.
