Barena Venezia

Barena Venezia is a family-run Venetian label making soft, unstructured tailoring rooted in the rural and workwear dress of the Venetian lagoon. Sandro Zara launched the first collection in 1993 with designer Massimo Pigozzo, still creative director; his daughter Francesca Zara added womenswear in 2008. Core pieces include unlined blazers, overshirts, chore jackets, knitwear and pleated trousers in wools, cottons and linens, many reproduced from the archives of closed Veneto mills such as Lanificio Cini. Production stays in Italy, sold via independent retailers and the brand's own site.
