Phat Farm
Phat Farm is the New York hip-hop label Russell Simmons launched in 1992 from a Prince Street shop in SoHo, pairing preppy staples — rugby shirts, logo polos, chinos, denim and low-top sneakers — with oversized cuts, bold color and script branding. Simmons sold parent company Phat Fashions, including Phat Farm and Baby Phat, to Kellwood for about $140 million in 2004; the primary licensee filed for bankruptcy in 2011 and the men's line wound down. Sister label Baby Phat relaunched in 2019 under Kimora Lee Simmons, but Phat Farm runs no current collections or direct retail site.
