What to know about École de Pensée
École de Pensée is an independent Montreal menswear label and retailer co-founded in 2014 by childhood friends Marc-André Garand and William Lessard, later joined by Julien Gauthier. Rooted in skate culture, it practises a relaxed "new wave tailoring": unconstructed jackets, safari jackets, parachute trousers, knitwear and made-to-measure suits in premium wools, poplins and leathers. Collections evolve coherently season to season rather than chasing trends. Its flagship on Laurier Avenue West in Mile End stocks the line with European and Japanese collaborators, and CAFA named it menswear designer of the year in 2024.
