J. Press is an American Ivy-style menswear label founded in 1902 by Jacobi Press beside Yale's campus in New Haven. It built the natural-shoulder, undarted silhouette into a canon: Harris Tweed sport coats, Shaggy Dog Shetland sweaters, flap-pocket oxford button-downs, repp ties and made-to-measure tailoring produced in the USA. Japanese parent Onward Kashiyama (now Onward Holdings) bought the company in 1986. Stores operate in New York, New Haven and Washington, D.C. Rowing Blazers founder Jack Carlson became creative director and president in September 2025, reviving vintage labels and the patch-pocket Ivy blazer.
