KANEMASA PHIL. is the in-house label of Kanemasa, a circular-knit fabric manufacturer founded in 1964 in Wakayama, Japan's largest knitted-textile producing region. Launched for Spring/Summer 2021 as KANEMASA and renamed KANEMASA PHIL. for its 2023 autumn/winter international rollout, the brand exists to keep the mill's high-gauge and jacquard knitting machines and craft in use. Under a "Future Classic / Future Vintage" concept it makes knit shirts, cut-and-sew, cardigans, trousers and tailored jackets in super-high-gauge gauges such as 36G and 46G, sold through Japanese and overseas select retailers.
