A.PRESSE is a Tokyo menswear label founded in 2021 by Kazuma Shigematsu, who also directs outdoor brand DAIWA PIER39. Operating under a self-described "clothing editorial department" concept, a small design team studies mid-century vintage Americana, military uniforms and workwear, then reconstructs those archetypes as denim jackets, chore coats, pleated trousers, shirting and tailored outerwear in elevated Japanese fabrics. The brand stays deliberately scarce: it remains independent, runs only two stores, in Tokyo and Kyoto, sells no e-commerce direct, and distributes through selective stockists including Union Los Angeles, HAVEN and Mytheresa.
