Dickies, Carhartt and other trade lines are cheapest where tradespeople shop. Dave's New York stocks the 874, and Home Depot sells it online.
For selvedge and Japanese labels, try Blue Owl in Seattle, Clutch Cafe in London, or Tenue de Nîmes in Amsterdam. Staff can advise on raw-denim sizing.
Red Wing and Barbour run their own stores, which also handle resoles and rewaxing. Shops such as Goods in Copenhagen or Royal Cheese in Paris carry the European labels.

1873. Rivets make the work pant. Levi Strauss & Co. and Jacob Davis received a US patent for adding metal rivets to work pants, the garment later known as blue jeans.
Late 1970s. Japan reproduces the old American jean. Japanese makers began studying vintage American jeans and copying their fabric, stitching and rivets. Studio D'Artisan, founded in 1979, was followed by Denime, Evisu, Full Count and Warehouse, known abroad as the Osaka Five.
1980. Barbour designs the Bedale. Margaret Barbour designed the Bedale, a lightweight thornproof short jacket for riding. Barbour still makes it by hand in South Shields and has offered rewaxing since its 1921 catalogue.
It is a menswear aesthetic based on traditional labor garments—chore coats, denim, work boots, and canvas—made with durable materials and rugged construction. The look prioritizes function, quality, and clothing that patinas with age.
