Alighieri
Alighieri is a London jewellery label founded in 2014 by Rosh Mahtani, an Oxford graduate in French and Italian literature who names each piece after a fragment of Dante's Divine Comedy. The work centres on hand-carved wax models cast in recycled bronze and plated in 24k gold, producing deliberately imperfect, molten-looking medallions, coin pendants, pearl earrings and signet rings. Production is kept local to Hatton Garden, London's jewellery quarter. Mahtani received the Queen Elizabeth II Award for British Design in 2020, the first jeweller to win it.
