What to know about Ardene
Ardene is a family-owned Canadian value fashion retailer founded in 1982, when it opened a 500-square-foot accessories kiosk in a Montreal-area mall. It still sells mainly its own private label: trend-led women's apparel, footwear, jewellery, lingerie, activewear and, since 2022, men's basics, priced largely under CAD 40. The chain runs roughly 250-300 stores across Canada, the United States and the Middle East, plus ardene.com, and targets Gen Z shoppers with Y2K-leaning, fast-turning assortments, large-format experiential stores and influencer partnerships. It remains privately held by the founding family.
