What to know about Assembly New York
Assembly New York is a Lower East Side concept boutique founded in 2008 by former gallerist Greg Armas at 170 Ludlow Street. It stocks international and hard-to-find independent labels — including Our Legacy, Ottolinger, Vaquera, MM6 Maison Margiela and Studio Nicholson — alongside jewelry, eyewear, fragrance, footwear and curated vintage. Armas added an eponymous in-house collection in 2009, expanding to womenswear in 2011: minimalist, often black, androgynous ready-to-wear sewn in New York City using natural, deadstock and upcycled fabrics. A Los Angeles outpost followed in 2015.
