Freestyle

Freestyle is an American action-sports watch brand launched in California in 1981 and credited with creating the surf watch category. Its signature Shark — a square-cased digital timepiece with 100m water resistance, nylon clip or leash straps, tide modules and a fin logo — remains the core line, sold in loud colorways alongside surfer signature editions with Caroline Marks, Sage Erickson and Luke Davis. The brand is now operated by Freestyle Brands, LLC from Lewisville, Texas, and marked 45 years in 2026 with the glow-in-the-dark Since '81 Shark Classic collection. Watches carry a limited lifetime warranty and mostly retail between $60 and $120.
