L'Exception
L'Exception is a Paris multi-brand retailer founded in 2011 by Régis Pennel as an e-commerce platform for French and contemporary designers, later adding a 300 m² omnichannel concept store near Châtelet in 2016 fitted with tablets in fitting rooms, QR-coded labels and connected terminals. Its mix spans ready-to-wear, accessories and design objects from established and emerging labels. In September 2024 the company shifted to a 100% marketplace, low-cost model built on automated product and logistics workflows, while Pennel publicly sought a buyer for the business.
