MATCHESFASHION
MATCHESFASHION was a British luxury e-tailer founded in 1987 by Tom and Ruth Chapman as a single boutique in Wimbledon, London, and grown into a global multi-brand site selling Prada, Gucci, Saint Laurent and emerging designers, plus the 5 Carlos Place townhouse in Mayfair for events and appointments. Apax Partners sold the loss-making business to Mike Ashley's Frasers Group for GBP 52 million in December 2023; Frasers refused to fund a turnaround and placed it into administration in March 2024, ending trading. Frasers retains the brand name.
