What to know about Oris
Oris is a Swiss watchmaker founded in Hölstein in 1904 by Paul Cattin and Georges Christian, who named the firm after a nearby brook. It remains one of the few sizeable independent Swiss houses, privately held and led by chairman Ulrich W. Herzog with Rolf Studer as CEO. The company builds mechanical watches exclusively, having dropped quartz in the 1980s, and develops in-house calibres such as the five-day Calibre 400 family. Core lines include the vintage-styled Divers Sixty-Five, the Aquis dive collection, Big Crown Pointer Date and Artelier, plus ocean-conservation limited editions.
