What to know about Plasticana
Plasticana is a French footwear label founded in 1998 by environmental poet André Ravachol. It makes waterproof, recyclable clogs, mules, wellington boots and fisherman-style jelly sandals in France from a blend of hemp fibre and recyclable or recycled plastic. It uses no dyes, so the natural fibre gives each pair a slightly different translucent amber tone. Its unisex Gardana clog is the best-known style. Concept stores such as Merci and Centre Commercial in Paris carry the brand, and it has a Plasticana x Méduse collaboration.
