What to know about Sabah
Sabah makes hand-stitched, unlined leather slip-ons based on the traditional Turkish village slipper, founded in 2013 by Mickey Ashmore after he discovered the style while living in Istanbul. The brand began as apartment pop-ups in New York's East Village and remains privately held and independent, without venture backing. Shoes are produced at a roughly 70-person workshop in Gaziantep, Turkey and a smaller studio opened in El Paso, Texas in April 2022. Core styles include the Classic Sabah, backless Baba and Alto boot, sold direct through "Sabah House" stores from San Francisco to London.
