Top of the World
Top of the World was Ottawa's oldest and largest independent skate and snowboard shop, trading from 1993 until its final day on Bank Street in September 2024. The 2,000-square-foot store stocked skateboards, longboards, snowboards, footwear and apparel, plus hard-to-find limited-edition releases, and served as a hub for the local skate scene. Owners blamed shifting retail habits, chain-store competition and warmer winters hurting snowboard sales. The topoftheworld.com site remains online, with the shop describing the closure as a transition rather than a definitive end.
