What to know about AKIKOAOKI
AKIKOAOKI is the Tokyo womenswear label of Akiko Aoki, who studied at Joshibi University of Art and Design and Central Saint Martins before assisting at Japanese labels and starting her own line, which debuted at Tokyo Fashion Week for Spring/Summer 2015. Collections build narrative, fantasy-tinged themes into draped dresses, reworked tailoring, corsetry-inflected bodices and printed separates. Aoki was a 2018 LVMH Prize semi-finalist. The brand, operated by IKOA Co., Ltd., continues to show on the Rakuten Fashion Week Tokyo calendar, presenting its Spring/Summer 2026 collection in Tokyo in August 2025.
