AUrate is a New York fine jewelry label founded in 2015 by Sophie Kahn and Bouchra Ezzahraoui, who met studying finance at Princeton. It sells direct-to-consumer in solid 14k and 18k gold, diamonds and pearls, skipping traditional retail markups. The range covers everyday staples: huggie hoops, signet and stacking rings, tennis bracelets, pendants and paperclip chains, in a clean, minimal style. Investors include Bluecrest Capital and actress Kerry Washington, who also designed a capsule collection with the brand. It operates online plus a small number of New York-area stores.
