Brioni is a Roman menswear house founded in 1945 by tailor Nazareno Fonticoli and salesman Gaetano Savini, and named after the Brijuni islands. Suits, formalwear, knitwear and leather goods are hand-finished at its atelier in Penne, Abruzzo, home to the house's Nazareno Fonticoli School of Haute Tailoring. Creative director Norbert Stumpfl, in post since 2018, favours a soft, fluid silhouette in cashmere, vicuna and silk. Kering has owned the brand since 2011 and appointed Federico Arrigoni CEO in May 2025, the year Brioni marked its 80th anniversary.
Overall fit
true to size
Brioni is generally regarded as true to size within a soft, elegant Italian silhouette, with a comfortable natural-shoulder cut rather than an exaggeratedly slim or boxy shape.
Tip: Take your usual tailored size; the soft construction is forgiving, but confirm the drop and consider MTM for a precise fit.
