Copenhagen womenswear house founded in 2003 by Danish designer Malene Birger, who stepped away from the company in 2014. Mathilde Torp Mader was appointed creative director in 2017 and led a 2020 repositioning that introduced a house monogram and reworked the collections and store concept. Output centres on soft tailoring, draped and printed dresses, knitwear, silk shirting and leather accessories in muted, tonal palettes. The label shows during Copenhagen Fashion Week and sells via its own stores, bymalenebirger.com and wholesalers including Ssense.
