Colonialism Skateboards

Colonialism Skateboards is an independent skateboard company based in Regina, Saskatchewan, in Treaty 4 territory. Founder Michael Langan, a skater from Cote First Nation, launched it in 2015 with a first deck graphic about the Pass and Permit system once used to control First Nations people living on reserves in Western Canada. Its decks use art and history to start conversations about colonial policy. Recent boards are made with Indigenous artists, including one featuring family photography and beadwork by Cole Chalifoux of Grouard, Alberta.
