Cushnie

Cushnie was a New York women's ready-to-wear and bridal label founded in 2008 by Parsons graduates Carly Cushnie and Michelle Ochs as Cushnie et Ochs. It built its reputation on body-conscious tailoring, cutout gowns, jumpsuits and slip dresses in strong solid colors, worn by Beyoncé and Michelle Obama. Ochs exited in 2018 and the label was renamed Cushnie, with Carly Cushnie as majority owner adding handbags, denim and bridal plus a 2019 Target collaboration. Cushnie announced the business was closing in October 2020, citing COVID-19 losses and retail conditions.
