ESQUIVEL

Esquivel is the namesake footwear label of Southern California designer and craftsman George Esquivel, who designed his first pair of shoes in 1994 and now works from an appointment-only atelier and showroom, Esquivel House, in the Downtown Los Angeles Arts District. The workshop hand-makes a capped run of roughly 4,000 pairs a year: distressed-leather wingtips, boots, loafers and sneakers finished with hand-stamping, hand-painting and signature fabric laces, plus bespoke commissions from about $1,000. Esquivel has collaborated with Florsheim, Chloé and Tommy Hilfiger, and was Tumi's creative director from 2013 to 2015.
