Gil Rodriguez is the Los Angeles label founded in 2018 by Eliana Gil Rodriguez, who spent roughly a decade at the original American Apparel as a womenswear designer before starting her own line. The brand builds slow-fashion essentials cut and sewn locally, with core fabrics custom-knit at nearby mills: terry-cloth tops, shorts and tennis dresses, stretch one-piece swimsuits, leotards, ribbed knits and simple day dresses in saturated colorways. It stocks SSENSE, including exclusives, plus independent US boutiques, and has expanded into kidswear and cashmere.
