Norma Kamali

Norma Kamali is an independent New York womenswear label founded in 1967 by its namesake designer, who still owns and runs it. The range covers jersey ready-to-wear, coats and swimwear: the down Sleeping Bag Coat, shirred and draped jersey dresses, jumpsuits, high-heeled sneakers and maillots. Kamali continually reissues and reworks her own archive instead of following a conventional seasonal calendar, and sells largely direct-to-consumer online. In 2025 she presented generative-AI design experiments built on a custom model trained on the brand's archive.
