Hartford is a Paris-based casual-chic label founded in 1979 by Yves Chareton, who started it after failing to find the 1950s American shirts he wanted. The brand reworks mid-century American sportswear with French restraint: shirting is the core category, led by the men's Paul shirt and the women's Cinema shirt, alongside the Jonah jacket, knitwear, T-shirts, printed camp-collar shirts, dresses and a children's line. Design and showroom operations are in Paris's 11th arrondissement, and collections sell through the brand's own e-commerce plus more than 1,000 stockists worldwide.
