Hickey Freeman

Hickey Freeman makes American tailored menswear: canvassed suits, sport coats, topcoats, trousers and knitwear cut for classic business dressing rather than fashion-led design. Founded in Rochester, New York by Jeremiah Hickey, Jacob Freeman and Thomas Mahon, it ran its Rochester factory — nicknamed the Temple to Fine Tailoring — from 1908 until 2023. Authentic Brands Group has held the trademark since 2023 and licenses it out; the Tom James Company bought the Rochester plant in July 2023 and reopened it as Rochester Tailored Clothing. Core output remains worsted and flannel suiting.
