John Alexander Skelton

John Alexander Skelton is an independent London menswear label founded after the designer's 2016 Central Saint Martins MA, where he won a L'Oreal graduate prize. Collections are numbered in Roman numerals and released seasonlessly, drawing on English folklore, rural labour history and 19th-century tailoring: voluminous frock coats, high-waisted trousers and raw-hemmed shirting. Skelton works with English mills and weavers, uses rare-breed British wool, antique sheets and grain sacks, and finishes garments by hand-dyeing, overwashing, painting and patching. He presents off-schedule in East London, showing Collection XVIII in January 2025.
