What to know about Kinco
Kinco is a Portland, Oregon glove maker founded in 1975 by Bruce Kindler, who started by selling welding gloves to West Coast supply stores. The company produces lined and unlined pigskin work gloves, cut-resistant, coated and disposable styles, plus the Welch suspenders line. Its 901 lined grain-and-suede pigskin ski glove and 901T mitt, insulated with proprietary HeatKeep fill, hold cult status among skiers, snowboarders, ranchers and tradespeople for durability at low prices. Mechanix Wear, a Gryphon Investors portfolio company, acquired Kinco in June 2025; owner Travis Kindler stayed on as president with a minority stake.
