What to know about Lugz
Lugz is an American footwear label launched in October 1993 by family-owned Jack Schwartz Shoes, which still owns and operates it from New York City. The brand built its name on affordable lug-sole work boots that hip-hop adopted as street uniform, supported by endorsements from artists including Snoop Dogg and Birdman. It now produces boots, chukkas, steel-toe work styles and canvas sneakers for men, women and kids, distributed through Famous Footwear, Kohl's and Shoe Carnival, with most styles priced between $50 and $95. A licensed Ozzy Osbourne capsule launched in November 2025.
