What to know about MECH (МЕЧ)
MECH (МЕЧ) is a Russian streetwear label founded in 2011 by Andrey Dugin and Evgeny Yakovlev, who began by screen-printing T-shirts for friends. The name comes from Minsk skater slang, and the aesthetic blends hardcore-punk graphics with travel-ready utility: fleece shirts and zip fleeces, quilted vests, liner and reversible jackets, ripstop shirts, rugby tops, parkas and backpacks. Production stays in Russia, with jersey sewn in Moscow and outerwear in St Petersburg. The brand runs its own stores at Moscow's Khlebozavod No.9 and on Gorokhovaya in St Petersburg, plus an online shop and travel journal.
