Peak Design is an independent San Francisco carry brand founded in 2010 by Peter Dering, which launched with a Kickstarter campaign for its Capture Camera Clip. The company designs camera accessories, travel bags, tripods and phone mounts, favoring modular, repairable construction and muted technical fabrics. Core products include the Everyday Backpack, Travel Backpack and Tech Pouch. Peak Design funds launches through crowdfunding rather than venture capital, running its fourteenth Kickstarter campaign in March 2025. Flagship travel backpacks retail at roughly $250 to $300, with refurbished units sold through its own marketplace.
