HAVEN (Vancouver and Toronto), The Darkside Initiative in Portland and Firmament in Berlin stock Acronym, Veilance and Japanese technical labels. They have staff who know the sizing.
Arc'teryx, Nike, Salomon and Outlier sell direct with full size runs. Acronym sells through its own site, in drops that often sell out fast.

1988. C.P. Company puts lenses on a jacket. C.P. Company’s Mille Miglia jacket, later called the Goggle Jacket, set two clear lenses into the hood and a third in the sleeve for reading a wristwatch.
2008. Errolson Hugh joins Stone Island. Stone Island opened its design to an international team in 2008. Errolson Hugh, co-founder of Acronym, joined and led Shadow Project, the brand’s experimental technical sub-line.
2009. Arc’teryx launches Veilance. Arc’teryx, which began making GORE-TEX apparel in 1996, founded Veilance in 2009 as its city line, putting mountain-shell construction into plainer, tailored clothes.
Techwear is a clothing style that combines technical performance materials—like Gore-Tex and softshell—with urban, often all-black styling and utilitarian details. It emphasizes function, weather protection, and freedom of movement in a city context.
Acronym is the most influential techwear brand, alongside Veilance (Arc'teryx), Guerrilla-Group, Enfin Levé, Vollebak, and Nike ACG. Outdoor labels like Arc'teryx and Salomon are also widely adopted within the aesthetic.
Build a layered, mostly-black outfit around a waterproof shell or technical jacket, tapered cargo or jogger-style pants, and low-profile technical sneakers or boots. Add functional accessories such as slings, chest rigs, or modular pouches.
They overlap but differ in tone. Gorpcore embraces colorful, recognizable outdoor gear worn casually, while techwear leans darker, more urban, and more design-driven toward a futuristic silhouette.
