Rodarte
Rodarte is an independent American womenswear and accessories label founded in 2005 by sisters Kate and Laura Mulleavy and still headquartered in Los Angeles. The privately held house builds conceptual, hand-worked eveningwear from tulle, lace, silk satin and velvet devoré, drawing on horror cinema, mythology and California landscapes. It shows on the runway seasonally and sells direct through shoprodarte.com alongside Net-a-Porter and Moda Operandi. Gowns typically run $1,300 to $3,800. The Mulleavys also designed the ballet costumes for Darren Aronofsky's film Black Swan.
