What to know about Sanjo
Sanjo is a Portuguese sneaker brand named after São João da Madeira, the northern footwear town where it began. Started in the 1930s by the hatmaker Empresa Industrial de Chapelaria, it was Portugal's first trainer brand and a staple of basketball and futsal courts until the 1980s. The factory closed in 1996. Fersado bought the name and restarted production in 2010. Its core models are the high-top K100, made from sailcloth with vulcanised rubber and a vented sponge insole, and the low-top K200.
