Small Talk Studio

Small Talk Studio is an independent New York menswear label founded in 2017 by Nick Williams, who brought in longtime friend Phil Ayers in 2021. Based in Manhattan's Garment District, it began with elaborate hand-drawn and embroidered one-of-one custom garments before expanding into full cut-and-sew seasonal collections. The studio balances made-to-order commissions, wholesale ranges and collaborations, using domestic and Japanese deadstock plus custom-milled fabrics with local production. Collections blend workwear and relaxed tailoring with illustrated graphics; tees run about $175 and trousers and jackets $500-750 at retailers including SSENSE and MR PORTER.
