What to know about sulvam
Sulvam is a Tokyo-based label founded in 2013 by Teppei Fujita, a Bunka Fashion College graduate who previously worked as a patternmaker at Yohji Yamamoto. Fujita drafts every pattern himself, producing deconstructed, reworked tailoring—matching suits, shirts and chunky knitwear—in high-quality fabrics with unconventional silhouettes. The name derives from the Latin for improvisation. Sulvam won the Tokyo Fashion Award in 2014, was a 2017 LVMH Prize semi-finalist, and shows menswear in Paris, including a Spring/Summer 2025 show in June 2024. It also offers womenswear, shoes and accessories.
