Taiga Takahashi (T.T)

Taiga Takahashi is a unisex Japanese label founded by the designer of the same name after he graduated Central Saint Martins in 2017 and settled in New York. It reconstructs early-twentieth-century American workwear from his personal archive of roughly 1,000-2,000 pre-mass-production garments, using natural hand-dyeing, vintage power looms and Japanese artisan tailoring. Trousers, jackets and shirting balance historical accuracy with contemporary cut. Takahashi died unexpectedly in April 2022 aged 27; his collaborative team continues the project, now presented as T.T, from a studio in Kyoto's Gion district.
