TOMS makes casual footwear built around the Alpargata, a rope-soled canvas slip-on adapted from traditional Argentine espadrilles, alongside sneakers, sandals, boots, platform styles and eyewear. Blake Mycoskie launched the label in 2006 with a one-for-one shoe donation model; since 2019 the company instead directs a share of profits to grassroots organizations working on mental health, gun violence prevention and access to opportunity. Creditors including Jefferies and Nexus Capital took control in a 2019 debt restructuring, ending Bain Capital's stake. Sales run through toms.com and wholesale.
