Castañer

Castañer is a Catalan footwear house founded in 1927 in Banyoles by Luis Castañer and his cousin Tomás Serra, who began by making rope-soled espadrilles. A 1970s collaboration with Yves Saint Laurent produced the first wedge espadrille and moved the brand into fashion. The range centres on jute-soled canvas espadrilles, flats, wedges and sandals, with leather styles, sneakers and summer accessories alongside. Women's and men's lines sell through the brand's own stores and site plus international multibrand and department-store retailers.
