Chup
CHUP is the in-house sock label of Glen Clyde, a Japanese hosiery manufacturer producing for other brands since the early 1990s. The name stands for Classical Human's Universal Peace and nods to Japan's Ainu people; its patterns adapt folk and indigenous motifs — Native American, Ainu, Fair Isle, Guatemalan — into jacquard crew socks. Production runs on specialized stocking frames with hand-linked toes, limiting output to roughly 25 pairs a day. Eco Yarn cotton blends are standard, and distribution skews toward denim and workwear retailers including HAVEN.
