GX1000
GX1000 is an independent San Francisco skate label founded in 2008 by filmmaker Ryan Garshell, who named it after his initials and the Sony VX-1000 camera he shot on as an in-house filmer for Thrasher. It began as a video series documenting steep hill bombs and raw Bay Area street skating, then expanded into decks and apparel: graphic tees, logo hoodies, work jackets and caps built on 1990s skate cuts. SFMOMA has programmed its films, including the tribute screening "Right Here for Pablo."
