Journal Standard is a Japanese select-shop label and retail chain run by Baycrew's, the Tokyo group founded in 1977 that also operates IENA, EDIFICE, Spick & Span and B.C STOCK. The first Journal Standard store opened in 1997 in Fukuoka, and the concept mixes in-house menswear and womenswear with imported labels, vintage furniture and interiors. Output centres on American- and workwear-rooted staples: denim, fatigue pants, chore jackets, sweats, knitwear and outerwear in muted palettes. Sub-lines include relume and Journal Standard L'essage. Baycrew's moved to a holding-company structure, Baycrew's Group HD, on 1 September 2025.
