Loop & Weft

Loop & Weft is a Japanese knitwear label founded in 2011 by Ryota Seguchi, who previously worked in production and sales for a denim brand. Based in Yamanashi Prefecture near Mount Fuji, it specializes in cut-and-sew cotton goods knitted on scarce vintage machinery, including Tompkins circular knitters and tubular loopwheel frames. Proprietary fabrics are developed each season and sewn by shokunin at small local factories, yielding slubby tees, striped sweatshirts, thermals and shawl-collar cardigans. Low-impact natural dyes create organic color variation. Heritage specialist retailers worldwide stock the collections.
