Nomos watches

NOMOS Glashütte builds mechanical watches in Glashütte, Saxony, with a design studio in Berlin. Founded in 1990 by Roland Schwertner, it has been fully independent since buying back outside investors' shares by 2003. Bauhaus-influenced models — Tangente, Orion, Ludwig, Club and Metro — pair slim cases and sparse dials with in-house calibers, including the thin automatic DUW 3001 and the proprietary NOMOS swing system escapement. Swiss ebauches were used until 2005; production now meets Glashütte origin rules. Most mainline models sit in the low thousands of dollars.
