OluKai makes Hawaii-inspired premium footwear from its base in Irvine, California. Footwear-industry veterans founded it in 2005 around a sandal wearable "from the beach to dinner," and it claims credit for the first flip-flops built with supportive midsoles. The range covers leather and quick-dry sandals, slip-ons, boat-style shoes and sneakers on anatomically contoured footbeds, using full-grain leather and soft textiles. A share of every sale funds the Ama OluKai Foundation, which grants money to Hawaiian cultural and heritage programs. Sales run direct-to-consumer and through wholesale.
