Vionic makes comfort footwear built around podiatrist-developed arch support. Australian podiatrist Phillip Vasyli started the business in 1979 as Orthaheel, after developing heat-mouldable orthotic insoles; operations moved to the United States in 2008 and the brand was renamed Vionic in 2014. Its US base is San Rafael, California, and it has been owned by St. Louis footwear group Caleres since 2018. The range covers sandals, slippers, sneakers, flats, boots and walking shoes, all using the brand's Vio-Motion support footbed.
