Poten is a Tokyo-based headwear label founded by Hironobu Iguchi, a former hat designer and lifelong baseball obsessive who also runs parent company Gwynn Co. and the Ebisu shop Tamaniwa. Its caps are sewn in an Okayama factory that supplies Nippon Professional Baseball teams, a facility Iguchi courted for three years. Six-panel silhouettes in Japanese twill, corduroy, suede, denim and cowhide carry no exterior logos, only a signature 19-stitch brim. Sold in fitted and adjustable sizing through a small stockist network.
